Real Camera Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Overview and Personal Information

Campus Friends ("we") provides the Real Camera application. Real Camera does not require an account and does not send camera or photo content to Campus Friends servers. Advertising services may independently process limited advertising-related information as explained in Section 3.

2. Face Data and Photos

What the app processes. When you use Face Alignment or Facial Asymmetry Check, Real Camera processes live camera frames or a photo you capture or select. The app derives face bounding boxes, head-pose angles, facial landmarks and contours (including the eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, and face outline), and facial balance or symmetry scores. Real Camera does not perform face recognition, does not identify any person, does not create a faceprint or biometric identifier, and does not link face data to an account.

Purpose. Face data is used only to guide face positioning in the camera, compare the visible left and right sides of the face, create user-requested comparison images, and display the facial balance analysis result.

On-device processing and storage. All face-data processing occurs locally on the user's device using on-device face-detection software. Real Camera does not upload camera frames, photos, facial landmarks, contours, head-pose data, or analysis scores to Campus Friends servers or any third-party server. Live frames and derived measurements are held only in memory while the feature is running. A captured photo or temporary copy of a selected photo is stored only in the app's private temporary directory while the result screen is open.

Retention and deletion. Live camera frames are discarded immediately after each frame is processed. Derived face measurements and analysis scores are discarded when the result screen closes. The temporary captured or selected photo is deleted when the result screen closes. If the app terminates unexpectedly before cleanup finishes, the file remains only in the operating system's private temporary storage and is removed by the operating system. Real Camera does not retain face data on developer-controlled servers.

Sharing and third parties. Campus Friends does not sell, rent, use for advertising or marketing, or disclose face data to third parties. Google ML Kit is used only for on-device face detection; Real Camera does not send face images or derived face data to Google. Google AdMob does not receive or access camera frames, photos, facial landmarks, contours, or analysis scores. A result image is saved to Photos only when the user taps Save, and is shared only when the user taps Share and chooses a recipient or service through the operating system's share sheet. Copies saved or shared by the user are controlled by the user and the selected destination.

3. Advertising Services

Real Camera integrates Google AdMob to display advertisements. Depending on consent, device settings, and applicable law, Google may independently collect or process advertising identifiers, IP address, app interaction data, device model, and operating-system information. Real Camera does not provide face data or photo content to AdMob. For details, see the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not share face data with third parties. Advertising-related data may be processed by Google as described in Section 3. Any image shared through the operating system's share sheet is sent only to the destination selected by the user and is then governed by that destination's privacy practices.

5. Tracking Choices and Privacy Settings

Users may deny tracking permission on iOS, change advertising-privacy choices from the app's privacy menu where available, or adjust device advertising settings. Users can also manage Google advertising choices at Google Ads Settings.

6. User-Controlled Photos and Deletion

Real Camera accesses the camera or photo library only after the user grants the relevant operating-system permission. Photos or result files deliberately saved by the user can be deleted at any time from the Photos app. Temporary source files are deleted as described in Section 2.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or applicable requirements change. The updated policy and effective date will be posted on this page.
